Raymond James welcomes experienced advisor managing more than $300 million in assets in Fairbanks, Alaska
ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – Raymond James welcomed experienced financial advisor Roark “Alan” Head, CFP®, and his team to Raymond James Financial Services, Inc. (RJFS) – the firm’s independent advisor channel – in Fairbanks, Alaska, according to Bill Counsman, West regional director for RJFS.
Head joins Raymond James and Concurrent, an advisor-owned partnership of independent practices affiliated with RJFS, from Wedbush Securities, where he managed more than $300 million in client assets, including outside assets, for a variety of clients, including business owners, high-net-worth clients and retirees. Joining him at Raymond James are Deborah Combs, client services associate, and Austin Head, registered client service associate. Together the team operates as Head Retirement & Wealth Strategies.
“I’ve been in the business for almost 40 years, and what struck me is that at Raymond James, they are here to support me as an advisor, so I can focus on taking care of my clients. I’d never heard of another firm being so steadfast in that commitment, and that’s what I found refreshing during my due diligence process,” said Head, founder and managing director of Head Retirement & Wealth Services and RJFS financial advisor. “An example of that is the firm’s focus on technology and cybersecurity. The continued investment in those aspects helps me as an advisor to work confidently and efficiently with my clients. I can focus on the investment aspects most important to the client knowing that their information is protected through the use of secure portals like Client Access and file sharing tools like Vault.”
“What is great about Raymond James is that it doesn’t want its advisors to be generic. They provide the support and freedom to help us differentiate ourselves as advisors. I’m very excited about the succession planning resources as I plan for the future of my own practice, as well as the trust department as I plan for the future of my multigenerational clients. It’s an exciting feeling when you align with a firm that does business the same way you do.”
A CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional, Head brings nearly four decades of financial services experiences. He began his investment career in Fairbanks at Foster & Marshall/American Express, then moved to Ragen Mackenzie, Inc., which was acquired by Wells Fargo in 2000. Before transitioning his team to Raymond James, he worked at Wedbush Securities in Fairbanks, Alaska. Head is a graduate of the University of Alaska and holds a bachelor’s degree in mathematics.
“I’m proud to welcome Alan to Raymond James’ independent channel,” said Counsman. “He is extremely dedicated to his clients and passionate about providing them the highest level of services and resources. We’re pleased he found the robust offering at Raymond James to be the best for him and his clients as his practice continues to grow.”
