As a former professional baseball player with the Boston Red Sox, Joshua came to value teamwork, accountability, humility, hard work and “baseball IQ” – earned expertise. By putting together teammates who had the first four values and understood the nuances of the sport, he knew he could bring joy to the fans, his family and his team.
When co-founding his practice with BB&T Scott & Stringfellow, Joshua sought out teammates who had those character traits – forming the Garrett/Williams/Hissong Group. Together, they were committed to delivering those values to their clients as they guided them through the nuances of financial decision-making and investing.
He and his colleagues provide dedicated and client-focused service, planning and investment management tailored to each individual they serve. They rebranded their practice as the SunCoast Advisory Group of Raymond James when they moved to the firm in 2021. They were attracted to Raymond James for its commitment to advisor independence so they can always serve their clients’ best interests, as well as the firm’s robust investment platform and technology.
Joshua is married to Kristina. Chase, their son, is a freshman at The Citadel.
